Mental Health Services:
It is with great pleasure the North Central Local School District announces mental health services provider for the upcoming school year. NCLS is partnering with the National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP), which will focus on school-based treatment services through the STAR program. The STAR (Students Treatment Advocacy Resources) program will provide students access to Mental Health Services, where the majority of services can take place in the school setting. Meningitis:
Meningitis is a potentially fatal illness that may strike at any time. Nearly 10% of those affected will die from the disease. In some cases-even with treatment-this disease can potentially kill an otherwise healthy young person in less than 48 hours. Those who survive the disease may suffer hearing loss, brain damage and loss of limbs.
A person can catch meningitis by having contact with someone who has the bacteria in their nose or throat (some may not even be sick/or have symptoms, but still be spreading the disease). Why take a chance? Most adolescent cases in the US (up to 83%) could potentially be prevented by a single vaccination that has proved to be safe. Many colleges require this vaccine for admission. Please call the health department (419) 485-3141, your local pharmacist or private physician if you have any questions.

CDC Vaccines & Immunizations:
The Ohio Department of Health has vaccination requirements for all students who will be entering kindergarten, 7th grade and the 12th grade for the current school year.
Vaccinations are available at the Williams County Health Department and/or a physician's office. Also, many local pharmacies are able to administer required and optional vaccinations for the students entering 7th and 12th grades. Please call ahead to set up an appointment and to be sure the vaccinations are available at your location choice.
